【要点讲解】
1. holiday n. 假期，假日
a. “a holiday” means “一天假”or “多天假”
b.“holidays” means “一天以上的假期”
eg. “暑假” a summer holiday/summer holidays “寒假” a winter holiday/winter holidays
c. 如表示“连续五天的假期”，应为a holiday of five days/a five-day holiday，不可说 five holidays。
d. “度假”为 have/take a holiday
2. both a. ad. & pron. 两个都
a. both 一词应注意其在句中的位置。
Eg: The two
films are both interesting.
(用在be动词，情态动词，助动词后)
The two girls
both like singing and dancing.
(用在行为动词前)
Both the
subjects are difficult.
(用在名词前，但名词前如有其他限定词如my，the， these，John's等定冠词，指示代词，形容词性物主代词，名词所有格及其他词时，both 应提前。eg：both my hands)
b. both of them 两个都，其中both用作代词
3. “hope + 宾语从句”是一种表示祝愿的句型。eg. I hope you’ll be better soon.
4. Greetings.见面问好通常回答时复述原句再加个“too”。
Glad/Pleased/Nice/Happy to see you. Glad/Pleased/Nice/Happy to see you，too.
5．Nothing difficult!
a.
It means “ To give a talk is
nothing difficult for you!”
做个报告对你来说没什么难的。
b. something，anything，nothing，anybody，anyone，somebody，someone，nobody等不定代词在用形容词修饰时该形容词应后置。
6. wish n.& a. 祝愿，希望，想要

v. wish to do something 想干什么事
I wish to come. How about you?
我希望来。你呢？
wish somebody to do something＝want somebody to do something想要某人干什么事
I wish you to come on time.

常用短语" if you wish" 意义为“如果你愿意的话”。
Eg: You can come with your friends，if you wish.
如果你愿意的话，你可以和你的朋友们一起来。

make/give a talk 做个报告

8. choose v. 选择
choose something 选择什么东西
eg: He chose an apple.
他选择了一只苹果。
choose to do something 选择干什么事
eg: He chose to pick apples instead of pears.
他选择了摘苹果而不是摘梨。
9. People usually call me Jim for short.
人们通常为了简便而叫我吉姆。
Jim is short for James.
吉姆是詹姆士简称
call…for short 简称
eg. His real name is William，but we call him Bill for short.
他本名叫威廉，但我们都简称他比尔。

2. should v. aux. 应该
a. 用于陈述句或疑问句中表示一种委婉而又有礼貌的说法。

b. 用于how，why开头的疑问句中表示惊讶，意外，不能理解。
Eg : How should
I know?
我怎么会知道呢？
3．英文人名的表达方式
English people have three names. They are first name，middle name (这两部分合称名字又称given name/personal name) and last name（姓又称surname/family name）.
When you call somebody，you can say Mr./Mrs./Miss/Ms. with others’ last name.
You can never use them with others’ given names. When you call somebody "sir"，you can never use it with any names mentioned above.
Eg. Mr. Green / sir

Jim.
回答是他们不叫我吉姆。
这是一个表语从句。表语从句即是用一个句子来作表语。表语从句常用that引导，口语中有时可省去。
例如：The problem
is I can’t find my ticket.
问题在于我找不到我的票了。

5. Why don't you call me Bob? ＝Why not call me Bob?
你为什么不叫我鲍勃呢?
Why don't you … 为否定形式的特殊疑问句，被用来提出建议，在口语中经常省略主语，以Why not形式处现，后跟动词原形。
例如：Why don't
