Laptop computers are popular all over the world. People use them on trains and airplanes, in airports and hotels. These laptops connect people to their workplace. In the United States today, laptops also connect students to their classrooms.

Westlake College in Virginia will start a laptop computer program that allows students to do schoolwork anywhere they want. Within five minutes, each of the 1500students at the college will receive a laptop. The laptops are part of a $10 million computer program at Westlake, a 110-year-old college. The students with laptops will also have access to the Internet. In addition, they will be able to use e-mail to “speak” with their teachers, their classmates, and their families. However, the most important part of the laptop program is that students will be able to use computers without going to computer labs. They can work with it at home, in a fast food restaurant or under trees--anywhere at all.

Because of the many changes in computer technology, laptop use in higher education, such as colleges and universities, is workable. As laptops become more powerful, they become more similar to desktop computers. In addition, the portable computers can connect students to not only the Internet, but also libraries and other resources. State higher-education officials are studying how laptops can help students. State officials are also testing laptop programs at other universities, too.

At Westlake College, more than 60 percent of the staff use computers. The laptops will allow all teachers to use computers in their lessons. 3.校园绿树成荫,鲜花朵朵,好像走进了公园似的。

注意:

1.内容应包括以上要点,可以适当增加细节 ,使内容连贯。

2.词数100字左右。

3.开头已为你写好:I used to study in the Hope Middle School…

I used to study in The Hope Middle School. The school was set up in 1984, when there were only 10 classes and more than 500 students. There was neither a lab nor a playground. Because of no electricity, we had to study in the lamplight at night. Although I spent 3 hard years in the school, I had a good time.

20 years later, I visited my school again. To my surprise I found the old school completely changed. There were trees and flowers everywhere. I felt as if I had entered a beautiful park. Every classroom was equipped with a color TV set. In the sound lab, I saw a foreign teacher giving an English lesson. In the lab, students were busy doing experiments. A modem library was being built.

I hope that my school will become more and more beautiful in the future

Some people think that sports are unimportant. They are only games. But sports can be of great value. Sports build our bodies, prevent us from getting too fat, and keep us healthy. At school students spend most of their time in classes, studying their lessons. So sports are very important to them. Each of them learns to go all out for his team and not for himself on the sports field. He will later find it natural to work for the good of society, for the good of his country.

Madame Curie was a world famous woman scientist. She was born in a teacher’s family in Poland in 1867 and died in 1934.

From her early childhood, she loved to study and hoped to become a scientist. She finished middle school at the age of 16. At 24 she left for Paris and entered Paris University. She lived a very simple life and studied very hard.

Madame Curie devoted her whole life to the study of science. She won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1903 and for chemistry in 1911.

It is not easy for a woman to succeed in her work. It is even more difficult for a woman to win the Nobel Prize twice in life. So Madame curie will always be remembered as a great woman.
