Do you want to watch a hot movie while chatting with your friend on the phone, or shop with your mobile while on a train? The ongoing construction of a new telecommunication service will make these things a reality, very soon.
It is reported that China is to issue its first license for the commercial use of third generation telecommunication technology(3G)early next year.
The so-called 3G technology will enable mobile phone users to enjoy high-speed Internet-based services. It will help increase mobility in many areas of our lives.

In the UK and many other European countries where 3G services have around since 2003, 3G has already become a part of modern business life. One day, I saw Kyle, a kid from my class walking home from school. It looked as if he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, “Why would anyone bring home all his books on Friday? He must be boring.” I shrugged(耸)my shoulder and went on.
As I was walking I saw a group of kids running toward him. They knocked his books out of his arms and tripped(绊倒)him. As he fell, his glasses went flying, landing in the grass.
He looked up, and I saw terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out and I went over to him. As he crawled around looking for his glasses, I saw tears in his eyes.
When I handed him his glasses, he looked at me and said, “Hey thanks!” There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books. One possible version:
Dear Jack,
Very glad to receive your e-mail. As you said, Super Girls are really very popular in China these days and the champion Li Yuchun has appeared on the cover of Times magazine. Some people think Super Girls are popular because common people were allowed space to voice their own opinions.
Besides, they broke the traditional value of beauty. But I think it is wrong for young people to admire Super Girls too much, because they can mislead young people. We should have real heroes to learn from and work hard for the future of our country. What do you think?
Best wishes !
Yours,
Li Hua
