第三部分 阅读理解(普通中学做前三篇,15小题每题2分;重点中学做四篇,20小题每题1.5分,共30分)
A.
Have you ever seen people dance? Some dances are fast and others are slow. People's feet always move when they dance. They keep on moving until the music stops.
People have enjoyed dancing for a very long time. This story is of a different kind of dance. It is a dance without people or music. Yet this dance is one of the oldest in the world. It is the dance of bees.
If you have ever watched bees, you know that they are very clever. They also work hard looking for food and bringing it back to their home. The home of the bees is called a bee hive. Here hundreds even thousands of bees live. They work day and night building small walls of wax. There they make their honey. This is the same honey that we eat.
Where does the honey come from? Bees live on food from flowers. Have you seen bees flying around a flower garden? When a bee rests on a flower, it tries to go to the center of it. There it takes in as much food as its body can hold. Then it flies to take the food back to the hive.
At the hive, bees change this flower food into honey. Then they fly away for more food.
How do the bees know where to find the best food in the sweetest flowers? One bee acts as a guide. When it discovers good flowers, it flies back to the hive and tells the others. It does this by dancing for them.
The bee dances on one side. This tells the other bees which way to go to find the flowers. But that is not all. The bee dances for some time. And the length of its dance tells the other bees how far they must fly to reach the flowers. When the bees see the dance, they know where the flowers are. They fly away and return with more food for the hive.
Sometimes we hear the music of the bees as they fly around. But few people have ever seen them dance. Yet without that dance we might never have sweet honey to eat.

On October 16th, 2003, when he came back to the earth after a 21 -hour trip to space, Yang Liwei' s smile was seen across the world above the magic words: "China's first spaceman". The 38 year - old astronaut was sent into space at 9 :00am on 15th by China's Shenzhou V spacecraft, which orbited the earth 14 times. He landed safely at 6:23am the next day, making China the third country to successfully send a person into space, after the former Soviet Union and the US. Yang was satisfied with his job. "I have seen many landing scenes before on video, and I think ours was one of the most successful," he said on a special plane to Beijing after landing.
While in space, Yang recorded everything he saw as well as showing China's national flag and the United Nations' flag to the people watching on TV at home. He also ate a meal of diced chicken and fried rice, before taking a 3 - hour nap. The whole project went according to the plan, but space exploration is not as easy as it seems. He experienced extremely high temperatures, while the gravitational forces(地心引力) on take -off and landing were strong enough to force tears from his eyes.
Bom into an ordinary family in Liaoning Province, he became a pilot in the Chinese Air Forces in 1987, spending 1,350 hours in the air. He joined the Chinese space programme 11 years later. He has spent five years training to become a spaceman. "I eat all 'of my meals at the space programmer's dining room and have never been able to take my son to kindergarten," he said. "I've never met his teachers. But becoming China's first spaceman has made all the effort worthwhile. When I boarded the spacecraft for the first time, I couldn't help feeling excited," he said. "I decided that I had to fly it." To Chinese people, Yang is now a hero. One visitor to a Xinhua news agency online forum said: "Yang's trip is a giant leap forward (巨大的飞跃) for China."

B. A hero with great courage.

62. How long did each of Yang's orbits take on average?
A. 1 hour. B. 1.5 hours.
C. 6 hours. D. The story didn't mention.
63. Why did the writer mention the gravitational forces on take - off and landing?
A. Because it is the most dangerous part of the space flight.
B. Because it is not a very special experience.
C. To stress how much training he had to do to prepare for the flight.
D. To show that Yang is brave.
64. What does the underlined sentence mean 9
A. Yang Liwei has devoted all his energy to space progamme.
B. Yang Liwei doesn't like to visit his son's teachers.
C. He enjoys his life in his unit.
D. He wouldn't like to share the responsibility of raising children.

B. Because it was a "giant leap" for Yang Liwei.
C. Because the space flight was a huge success.
D. Because China has launched a manned spaceship.

As the pace of life continues to increase, we are fast losing the art of relaxation. Once you are in the habit of rushing through life, being on the go from morning till night, it is hard to slow down. But relaxation is essential(必要的)for a healthy mind and body.
Stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. In fact, it is not the bad thing it is often supposed to be. A certain amount of stress is vital(有必要的) to provide motivation and give purpose to life. It is only when the stress gets out of control that it can lead to poor performance and ill health.
The amount of stress a person can stand depends very much on the person himself. Some people are not afraid of stress, and such characters are obviously important for managerial responsibilities. Others lose heart at the first signs of unusual difficulties. When exposed to stress, in whatever form, we react both chemically and physically. In fact we make choice between "flight or fight" and in more early days the choices made the difference between life or death. The crises(危机) we meet today are unlikely to be so extreme, but how little the stress is, it involves the same response. It is when such a reaction lasts long, through continued exposure to stress, that health becomes endangered. Such serious conditions as high blood pressure and heart diseases have established links with stress. Since we cannot remove stress from our lives ( it would be unwise to do so even if we could), we need to find ways to deal with it.
66. People are finding less and less time for relaxing themselves because
A. they do not know how to enjoy themselves
B. they do not believe that relaxation is important for health
C. they are traveling fast all the time
D. they are becoming busier with their work
67. According to the writer, the most important character for a good manager is his
A. not fearing stress B. knowing the art of relaxation
C. high sense of responsibility D. having control over performance
68. Which of the following statements is true?
A. We can find some ways to avoid stress.
B. Stress is always harmful to people.
C. It is easy to change the habit of keeping oneself busy with work.
D. Different people can withstand different amount of stress.
69. In paragraph 3," such a reaction" refers back to
A. asking a choice between "flight or fight".
B. "reaction to stress both chemically and physically"
C. " responding to crises quickly"
D. "losing heart at the signs of difficulties"
70. In the last sentence of the passage "do so" refers to
A. "expose ourselves to stress"
B. "find ways to deal with stress"
C. " remove stress from our lives"
D. " establish links between diseases and stress"

第二节 写作(满分10分)
Sample:
As everyone knows, newspapers may still be the most popular news media, but more and more people are getting their news from the Internet. So some students think the news from the net is the latest instead of that from newspapers. However, another part of students hold the view that the news gets through the Internet is usually unbelievable.
In my opion, both of the ideas are reasonable. The news and reports in a newspaper don’t change while websites change all the time, that is, websites can give us the latest news faster than newspapers, but not all websites are updated every day. Besides, newspapers are written by reporters, but websites can be written by anyone. So newspapers are more reliable than websites. Therefore, we can’t say which media is better. It’s probably best to read more than one source to choose the latest and reliable news.
