When I woke up this morning, I thought my body had fallen apart. As I dragged myself to the bathroom, I groaned and remembered the excitement of yesterday that was responsible for my pains.
My host family took me to Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, to meet with their relatives for skiing. We stayed in the family mountain house. It felt rather strange sleeping in a bunk bed. Maybe I have been spoiled by my single bed at Andover.

Cotton farmers in some Indian villages are busily buying Coca-Cola and Pepsi, believing that the sugar in the fizzy(有泡沫的)drinks kills pests. Farmers say scientists advised them to mix pesticides with a sugary juice to control pests, and they found the mixture cheaper and more effective than pure chemicals---although soft drink makers and scientists dismissed the remarks. Many landlords require payment of the first and last month’s rent before the tenants move in. This is known as “advance rent”.
